Merry Christmas to all!

It is ok to have tradition to bake, cook, making Ginger bread house, Christmas gift, but it is very important we focus, why we celebrate Christmas.

This Holiday is my favorite time of the year!

Luke 2:10, "But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."

Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
Matthew 1:23-24, "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL," which translated means, "GOD WITH US." And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife."

The bible calls the birth of Jesus, good news!!

We wish you Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Yom Kippur 2013

Credit: Google images

Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) is one of two Jewish High Holy Days.

The purpose of Yom Kippur is to bring about reconciliation between people and between individuals and God. According to Jewish tradition, it is also the day when God decides the fate of each human being.

Although Yom Kippur is an intense holiday it is nevertheless viewed as a happy day. Why? Because if one has observed the holiday properly by the end of Yom Kippur they will have made peace with others and with God.

Yom Kippur is a day of reconciliation, when Jews strive to make amends with people and to draw closer to God through prayer and fasting. The ten days leading up to Yom Kippur are known as the Ten Days of Repentance. During this period Jews are encouraged to seek out anyone they may have offended and to sincerely request forgiveness so that the New Year can begin with a clean slate.
Yom Kippur is also marked by 25 hours of fasting. There are other fast days in the Jewish calendar, but this is the only one the Torah specifically commands us to observe. Leviticus 23:27 describes it as "afflicting your souls" and during this time no food or liquid may be consumed.

In the New Covenant book of Hebrews, we read concerning Messiah who provided the blood of atonement for us: Hebrews chapter 9, verse 12: "Neither by the blood of goats and calves but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place having obtained eternal redemption for us." When I sin, I pray to God and ask him to cleanse me with the blood of atonement provided for me by the Messiah. Who is the Messiah? An honest study of the Scriptures will clearly show that Jesus is our Jewish Messiah. He came from God to provide for us the Blood of Atonement so that people might know cleansing from all sin and have peace with God. This is not another religion. It is Bible Judaism. It is the faith which the God of Israel expects of us.

I like to fast, because I feel like I want to focus on how Jesus Christ died for me regardless of my sins. He is that perfect sacrifice. It is to thank Him, to take a day off by saying thank you and spending time repenting.

May you come to know Jesus Christ, our Messiah!

Have a blessed Yom Kippur!!

Purim, the story of Esther

You must watch this movie. I love it. I watched it this week again. I have watched it almost every year since it came out.

This weekend is Purim. Purim is the celebration of the victory that HaShem gave to His people Israel over their enemies during the time when Persia ruled the Near East. The story of Esther (Hadassah) is well known and loved. She was an orphan who was being raised by her cousin, Mordecai.

The pagan King who ruled over the land of Persia was looking for a new Queen, since he had banned the current Queen, Vashti, from his presence because she had refused to dance at one of his drinking parties.

Hadassah was chosen to be his new Queen. You can read the book of Esther in the Old Testament.

On the 13th day of the month of Adar," the decree said "you are to destroy, kill and slaughter all Jews, young and old, women and children, all in one day. Their money and property will then belong to you."

When Mordechai heard of the decree, he ripped his clothing and put ashes on his head as a sign of mourning. He told Esther she must go to the king to try and save the Jews. Esther was afraid, for it was forbidden to come before the king without being invited. But Mordechai said, "Who knows if you have not been put in the palace for this very purpose? If you are silent now, help will come to the Jews from some other place -- and you will perish!"

Esther asked that the Jews in Shushan fast and pray for her for three days. Mordechai gathered all the Jewish and all prayed. God heard their prayers and delivers them from Haman.

God will keep His promise and also teaches us that He can use anyone to do His special work, as long as that person is willing to submit to Him and to live according to His ways.

Deuteronomy 25:17–19. Remember what Amalek did to you along the way when you came out from Egypt, how he met you along the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear when you were faint and weary; and he did not fear God. Therefore it shall come about when Adonai your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land which Adonai your God gives you as an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you must not forget. (Deut 25:17–19). The command to "blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven" is playfully fulfilled each Purim in the reading of the megillah—when the scroll that contains the story of Hadassah (Esther) is read to the community. In the Book of Esther, the first time Haman is mentioned he is described as "Haman, the son of Hamedata’, the Agagite" (3:1). Since the King of the Amalekites was Agag (1Sam 15:8), it would appear that Haman had ancestral linkage to the Amalekites. I you ask how is it possible that any Amalekites survived the war waged against them by Saul, Israel’s first king? In 1Samuel 15 we read: Saul defeated the Amalekites, from Havilah as you go to Shur, which is east of Egypt. He captured Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. (1Sam 15:7–8).

If God asked you to remove yourselves from ungodly friends or those that walk against God, do it. If He gave you a word to fulfill and you haven't, I encourage you to do it. He will have to use someone else to do it, but His word will never change.

I encourage you to listen to this teaching.

Happy New Year 2013

C.S Lewis said,"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."

I think another year like 2012 will be great to have for 2013. Sometimes it is easy to forget the blessings we have, because it becomes common. We have been blessed with His mighty arm filled with friends, family and children. I want to learn and teach my children to find the gifts in the little things.

Some of us want God to use us. For that we believe God has to send us to be a missionaries or give us a bigger platform. But what if our platform is to reach out someone in your neighborhood and your community or to make someone life better by one act of kindness.

Don't make your miracle so common, that you don't lose your excitement. At the same time, don't get comfortable and you stopped ask God to give you a new vision and dream.

Philippians 3:13, said "Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead."

This is my favorite lyrics, My prayer looks like this.

         Blessings By Laura Story:

We pray for blessings, we pray for peace

Comfort our family, protection while we sleep

We pray for healing, for prosperity

We pray for your mighty hand to ease our suffering

All the while You hear each spoken need

Yet love us way to much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops

What if Your healing comes through tears?

What if a thousand sleepless nights

Are what it takes to know You're near?

it goes on to say and ends-

What if my greatest disappointments

Or the aching of this life

Is the revealing of a greater thirst

This world can't satisfy?

I wish your New Year to be filled with love, family and health from our family to your family.

Happy New Year!!

Merry Christmas To You and Your Family

The Old Testament Prophecy

"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."Isaiah 9:2

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." Isaiah 9:6-7

"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising." Isaiah 60:1-3

The New  Testament Prophecy fulfilled

"But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Matthew 1:20-24.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Have a wonderful time with your family.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family!
1 Thessalonians 5:18: "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I don't like cold weather, but the best part of the winter will be the Holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite holidays. What a great way to spend time wth family and friends. I am cooking for two days, another set friends coming tomorrow for dinner.

The night before Thanksgiving, I like to clean up, get the table some what ready. Baking is done always a day before. Sweet potato, Cranberry Sauce and all my veggies are ready.

 Cranberry Recipe:

12 ounces Cranberry
1 cup white sugar
1 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Grated orange peel and 1 Cinnamon stick

Directions:

In a medium sized saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice. Stir in the cranberries and cook until the cranberries start to pop (about 10 minutes). If you wait longer, it will taste bitter.
Remove from heat and remove the cinnamon stick and orange peel. Place sauce in a bowl. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.

Sweet Potato Casserole:

2 1/2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

Fresh squeezed orange

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups miniature marshmallows

Preheat oven to 375°. Peeled sweet potatoes and cook for 15 minutes. Drain and cool.

Divide sweet potatoes in to two. Mix sugar and salt. Put in Baking dish coated with cooking spray. Evenly layer everything sweet potato, sugar, orange and butter, repeat again.

Top with marshmallows. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes or until golden. You can add pecan if you like.

I made my corn bread and getting ready to make corn bread dressing. I will post the recipe soon. It is to die for.

Here is my son's last year picture. This is one of my favorite. My kids don't care much for turkey and I wanted them to eat anything. So, he asked to eat it like that.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you come back again.

Happy Rosh Hashanah!!

Rosh Hashanah is a Jewish festival. During the daily prayer service a ram's horn, or in the Hebrew, shofar, is sounded.

In the Christian world, Rosh Hashanah is known as The Feast Of Trumpets. Many Christians observe this festival for its christians prophetic application - the Return Of Jesus Christ.

1 Cor 51-51; "Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on in corruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."

1 Thes 4:15-17; "According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."

Be blessed!!

Happy Resurrection Day!

I am glad we are celebrating the Risen Christ, But I wanted to share where in the bible does the "Easter" name came from.

The term "Easter" is not a Christian name. Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, 'the Queen of Heaven', whose name, as pronounced by the people of Nineveh, was evidently identical with that now in common use in Australia. That name, as found by Layard on the Assyrian monuments, is Ishtar.
The worship of Bel and Astarte was introduced into Britain by the Druids, 'the priests of the groves'. Baal was worshipped, and his consort, Astarte, was also adored by our ancestors in Britain. And from Astarte, whose name in Nineveh was Ishtar, the religious solemnities of April, as now practiced, are called by the name of Easter - that month, among our Pagan ancestors, was called Easter-month.
The festival, of which we read in church history, under the name of Easter, in the third or fourth centuries, was quite a different festival from that now observed in the church, and at that time was not known as Easter. It was called Pasch, or the Passover, and though not of Apostolic institution, was very early observed by many professing Christians, in commemoration of the death and resurrection of Christ. That festival agreed originally with the time of the Jewish Passover, when Christ was crucified.
Like the original apostles of Christ, we know from the Bible there is no requirement for Christians to observe the Passover. That was fulfilled by His death, burial and resurrection when He played the part of our Kinsman Redeemer 2,000 years ago. It is over, or as He said on the Cross, 'It is FINISHED!'
I believe that all who are Jesus' disciples in this day, should take Him at His Word, remembering It was Christ the Word Who bled and died on Calvary, not the man-made creed and tradition of some Christ-denying religious system.
Jesus said, 'My Word is Spirit, It is Life'. 'And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, "How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him". And the people answered him not a word'.
That same choice is placed before you today. If Baal be god, then follow him. But if Jesus Christ be God, follow the Word.
Peter said, 'We have seen the Words of the prophets vindicated; whereunto you do well if you heed all they wrote as you'd follow a light shining in darkness, until the subject becomes visible, and Christ illumines your hearts through the new birth: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the private thoughts of man: but holy men of God, spoke as they were inspired, by the Holy Ghost.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who secretly introduce heresies and, for greed exploit you' (II Peter 1:19-2:4).
I wanted to follow all the way, I learned to stop pleasing my flesh. I pray for you, you will ask the Holy Spirit and He will reveal to you!

Passover

Imagine the scene. Knowing that He would soon suffer and die as the Passover Lamb, Jesus commanded His disciples to prepare for this special meal. Jesus wanted to eat the Passover lamb with His disciples before He became the Passover Lamb (Luke 22:15).

The Scriptures tell us that following the Passover meal they sang a hymn, and then went to the Mount of Olives, Matthew 26:30. Great Hallel has been sung by Jews down through the centuries as they have celebrated the Passover?  Psalm 118 : 22-24.
Redemption comes first, then the festival of unleavened bread follows. Redemption gives us the ability through the spirit of God to say no to sin (to live unleavened bread).
Leaven swells up, it is anonymous with pride. If we truly understand the lords passover, and receive Him in our heart.
Having  personal experience with Messiah, the fruit of it is humility.

My goal for 2012 aren't new, but to accomplish the things I didn't finish in 2011.
To be organize, try to study and do my home work while the kids are at home instead of at night.
For business, because of the economy, I have been afraid to invest. And I will like to find peace and the favor of God to be successful.
I would love to spend quality time with each one of my kids.
I am praying for the wisdom of God, guidance and favor of God in every area of my life.
And to continue to love, to reach out, to fellowship with friends and family!
If you are reading this, may God bless you and guide you!

Merry Christmas!

Where should I begin how much I love Christmas. Yes the gifts, the lights, the bake goods, and the excitement of the kids. The reason for Christmas started when God wrap Himself in the virgin Mary womb and He was born to die for me and the man kind.

You see man kind was deep in Sin, and we were separated from God. And the only way to reunite us was, if Himself (God) became flesh and save the nation. "He loved us so much and He send His own begotten son, and whoever believes in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life."

Because of His birth, we get to see this wonderful season. The gift(Jesus) is free, receive Him!
My kids has been counting all week. Tonight, Jason said,"mom, Christmas eve is the most torture time for kids, the waiting to open present is killing us." What can I say, I have selfish typical kids. .
The table is set, all the prep is done, we read the story of Jesus Christ.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!

Thankgiving

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."
-Melody Beattie

Thanksgiving

I am thankful for my children. They are absolutely amazing! I expect more at times and I get reminded not to. They are smart, loving and very kind!

My kids wouldn't hurt anything. Truly, children are a gift from God. If everything is going wrong in life and we have our children, and they should be enough to be grateful.
The soccer practice, games, gymnastic, music lessons, friends........I mean my life is all about my kids. And I love it!

I miss my siblings and my mom, but what do I do except be miserable. God has given wonderful kids to love them and to care. I better do it to my best.  Of course, it is by the help of God!

Thanksgiving

Jim and Ginger are God's blessings to us. They are the best! I love them so much! I am very grateful for them. I wish I were close to them, but we try to visit them once a year.

Whenever the kids go to visit, they have a blast! When I told the kids we are not going to visit them this year, they get devistated. Jim is such a good man and full of energy. This man doesn't sit until he feeds everyone and wash all the dishes away. Ginger and I sit and enjoy our day.

Truly, If I want to write how much a blessing they have been to me and to my kids it will take a week. They are the kind of family(friends) I can call them anytime and about anything. I feel free when I am around them as if they are my birth parent if not more. Next to Emily is Lisa, Jim and Ginger daughter, my sister.

She is wonderful and so much like mom.
My prayer is God will keep Ginger and Jim healthy and keep them safe. I am praying they will know the Lord Jesus Christ as the savior! I grew up filled with religion and I want everyone to experience the relationship with Christ!

Thanksgiving

I am thankful for my siblings. It it a blessing to me having my two brothers and four sisters. One of my sister passed away when she was seven years old.

Growing up in a big family didn't seem big to me at all. We care for one another. The older one looks over on the young one. I never thought I will be away from my siblings for so long. I miss them like crazy. It breaks my hearts to see the days are going fast before my eyes.

I know the love we have for one another will never change. We were very close family. I am grateful, because when I think of them, all the memories I had is priceless.

I love each one of them. I am thankful how God blessed me to have the most wonderful siblings.
